Favorite Item of the Day!

I was so thrilled to see that one of my favorite Etsy artists, shaylamaddox, is now selling ACEO cards in her shop! I keep reminding myself that I am going to purchase a painting of hers very soon! She even offers payment plans!

Anyways, her shop is SOOOOO cool because her paintings change colors in different types of light and even glows in the dark! Check out the photos to see the different light changes!

As many of you know, I am an elementary art teacher, who teachers ACEO art to my students. They would be so excited and baffled to see an artwork ACEO like this! I need to ask her to be in my book next time around if she keeps the ACEO art up!

ETSY ARTIST FEATURE #3: HeavensEarth

During my quest to find ACEO and ATC artists to feature in a promotional and educational book I am putting together called, "Create. Collect. Trade. A Collection of Artist Trading Cards by Artists and Students," I ran across a post in the book thread by heavensearth. I began looking though her shop and found the most colorful and beautiful art I have seen in a long time!

In her shop, Heavens Earth, the artist uses a greens, pinks, and reds to create stunning works canvas paintings and ACEO cards. She even has works organized by series such as her Tree Series and Flower Series.

My eyes were immediately drawn to "Green Eggs" on a canvas. I would really love to see this on an ACEO, which she has created before, but sold out of!

Another favorite of mine is pictured above called, "Picking Flowers." This ACEO reminds me of the students I teach art for at two elementary schools (the same students for the start of PROJECT ATC) the colors are AMAZING.

ETSY ARTIST FEATURE #2: KateFitzpatrick

Alright everyone! I have to tell you about this amazing women who I have always looked up to and adored her work ever since I met her about ten years ago!

Etsian KateFitzpatrick sells unique art and jewelry in her shop. She has such a colorful and bold style that makes one stare at her detailed work longer and longer. Her Shop quote or theme, "Life.Magic.Beauty.Love," truly supports the spirit of her work.

ETSY ARTIST FEATURE #1: Sock Zombies by Underroos

Hello everyone and Happy 2008!

So, being new on Etsy (about 30 days old... still new??), I spend a lot of time in the forums and in the chat room (that I did not discover until about 3 weeks into selling on Etsy). One night while I was in the chat room, I saw this person with the coolest products....SOCK ZOMBIES!!! Now you might be thinking that zombies are weird, or gross, or not your thing, but I can assure you that you will think these are some of the most unique looking zombies ever!

Seller Underroos has been on Etsy since February 4,2007, selling her unique Sock Zombies with 145+ sales. Her sock zombies sell for $18.00 and each one is different. She even has different types: Toehawk, Striped, Fuzzy, Double Decker, Throwing, and Toe Horned to name a few!

You can usually find Underroos at night in the chat rooms or forums shouting "BBBRRAAAIIIINNNSSS" or "ZZOOOOMMMBIIEESSS." I will usually shout back to her something just as funny. Might sound odd to you, but not even knowing her, she became one of my favorite sellers just from the one or two times bumping into her on Etsy. Smart way to promote yourself I think. It got my attention at least!
