ETSY ARTIST FEATURE #7: Edamamepress

Happy Saturday everyone!

I wanted to share one of the neatest printmaking shops I have seen in a while! As you know, printmaking is my second love, although my shop does not reflect that as much as I would like it to, so I could not take my eyes off of the original prints that are displayed in this shop!

Edamamepress has a range of different printmaking techniques she uses such as woodcuts, papercuts, and monotype prints.  There is also a nice price range for her colorful works. One thing I like is that she has framed prints available for your hanging pleasure, but also offers her prints unframed if you contact her.

I really enjoy her tree prints. I especially like the Forest at Night (see in the featured picture above). Her black and white prints are stunning and the line quality and details is what makes her prints so spectacular. I am an ACEO collector and I also collect for my elementary art students. I LOVE this ACEO!

I hope you have enjoyed this artist as much as I have. Please send a heart their way if you do! Feel free to comment below on the artist for YOUR chance to be featured!

Cover for the Fall Edition of Create. Collect. Trade. (An ACEO Book)

Hello everyone!

I am back on my feet again and in desperate need of updating everyone and everything. Several people know some of the things that have been happening lately, but I am doing much better now. Thank you for your kind thoughts and prayers.

I wanted to update you with the cover of the book and some sample pages to follow. For those of you who have been keeping up to date in the forums, the book has been pushed back to the end of December/start of January. We had a few artists go A-wall and was wanting everyone to get a fair shot.

I have heard so many wonderful things about many of you being featured in shops, galleries, articles and that is SOOOO AWESOME to hear. I would like to update and link those bits of good news (on my to do list), as well as post some photos from the conference and students using the book from the Spring.

I hope everyone is doing well and that the holiday season is treating you well. It is a busy, but welcomed time of year as things are "settling down" a bit more for me. Please do not hesitate to contact me. The best way is though my e-mail art2theextreme@yahoo.com or an Etsy convo (but those can get buried fast since I receive so many a day).

For those Etsians who purchased and AD space, here is the layout of the page!

ART-O-MAT... An Art Vending Machine

While poking around ETSY the other day, I came across a thread called "Art-o-Mat." The name sounded cool, so I clicked on it. I instantly fell in love with this idea... (and I found out that there is one about 15 minutes away from me in Indianapolis!)

What is an Art-o-mat?
Art-o-mat machines are retired cigarette vending machines that have been converted to vend art. There are 82 active machines in various locations throughout the country.

What do you get from an Art-o-mat?
The experience of pulling the knob alone is quite a thrill, but you also walk away with an original work of art. What an easy way to become an art collector.

Want to be an Artomat artist?
There are around 400 contributing artists from 10 different countries currently involved in the Art*o*mat project. We are always searching for fresh work.

My Latest Purchases on Etsy!

I have stared purchasting items on Etsy now that I have some money in my paypal account and find it hard to stop now :). There are so many tallented artists here!

My latest purchase today was this LOVE BAMBOO COLLAGE PENDANT from Etsian AnnaCox (picture above). She has so many other very beautiful pendants at a great price!

I have also purchased these sparkling, beautiful EARRINGS from Jewelrybytiti. She had great communication with me and also ran a very successful BNR on Friday evening (it was the first one I had participated in).

That same night I purchased a BROWN SATIN CLUTCH from lucymoonglow. I loved the brown color and the pattern on the outside. She was also very friendly to talk to!

For my students, I purchased this FUZZY BABY PENGUIN ACEO from artbylmr, who also bough a spot in the ACEO BOOK that I am putting together. I could not resist the cute penguin.

One of my first purchases was from PurpleLicious, who makes the cutest headbands! I bough THIS HEADBAND MADE FROM VERA BRADLEY FABRIC and THIS HEADBAND.

It is so much fun to purchase art and be able to afford it for once :). Please take some time to look in these shops I have featured or post some recent purchases of your own!

The 2008 edition of  "Create. Collect. Trade. A collection of Artist Trading Cards Created by Artists and Students" is now available for artists to purchase their 2 FULL PAGES and individual copy of.

"Create. Collect. Trade. A Collection of Artist Trading Cards Created by Artists and Students" is an 80 page yearly publication of ACEO (Art Cards, Editions, and Originals) and ATC (Artist Trading Cards) art created by 25 artists and 25 elementary art students, who use these artists as inspiration.

This book is perfect for shop and artist promotion, a great coffee table book, and an inspirational guide for visual artists, students, and teachers.

This handbook is sent out to each of the 25 artists for them to use it as a promotional tool and given to artists, teachers, and art students to refer to for inspiration and interest.
Being featured in this book is a way to share and give back to the art community, while at the same time promoting yourself, your art, and adding this experience to your portfolio.

I will be updating the blog on a daily basis and providing more information about the book. Please convo me on Etsy or send an e-mail to art2theextreme@yahoo.com

***Create. Collect. Trade. was inspired by Project ATC, where Flickr and Etsy ACEO and ATC artists have donated their cards to swap with elementary art students in the hopes to make this art form become more well known and provide students with the visual opportunity to view actual artist work.

****Thank you to TimothyAdamDesigns for help and guidance! Please take time to check out his ETSY shop. His work is AMAZING!

I am Creating a Book!

My student-artist ACEO and ATC trade has become so successful that it has snowballed into something HUGE!  I am in the process of creating a book titled "Create. Collect. Trade. : A Collection of Artist Trading Cards by Artists and Students."

I will be looking for shops and artists to fill the space in the book along with student work. This book makes a great promotional tool for you and a wonderful coffee table book as well!

My purpose in creating this book is to help teach and spread the knowledge and inspiration to artists and visual art students of this unique art form and eventually hold a nation-wide contest for visual art students to be seen and published alongside true ACEO and ATC artists.

For more information, please visit the book blog.

Or these forum posts...

If you have more information or would like to be a part of this wonderful opportunity, please convo or e-mail me at art2theextreme@yahoo.com
